Almond Vanilla Cream Smoothie
A tasty breakfast smoothie, this unique blend of fruit and almond milk yields a feeling of satiation for many hours.
Ingredients:
½ cup almonds
2 cups water
3 tablespoons honey
1 banana
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ cup young coconut meat
1 tiny pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions: To make the almond milk, blend the almonds with the water. Strain the almond milk using a nylon nut milk bag. Nylon nut milk bags are available for purchase at: rawfamily.org. Set the pulp aside, and pour the almond milk back into the blender. Add in the remaining ingredients and blend thoroughly.
Note: To make a tasty almond spread out of the almond pulp, simply add 1 teaspoon of olive oil, a pinch of salt, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, a little chopped dill, and 1 chopped green onion to the pulp. Mix well, and serve with crackers.
