Valya’s Kale Chips Recipe
Dear Friends,
Kale chips are easy-to-make and are a healthy alternative to store-bought chips that are often laden with salt, fats, and GM ingredients. Valya prepares them without salt or oil. My nephew, who claims to be addicted to regular chips, now says that Valya’s chips are the tastiest food in the world. Here is a recipe for you.
Valya’s Kale Chips
2 bunches green curly kale, stems removed
1/2 red onion
1/2 bunch cilantro
1 cup brazil nuts
5 cloves garlic
1 lemon, juiced
7 kelp fronds (or sea salt to taste)
1 cup water
Blend all ingredients in a blender excluding kale. Take the stems out of the kale, and tear the leaves into bite size sections. Pour the mix over kale and mix evenly with a large spoon. Spread the seasoned kale onto dehydrator trays and dehydrate at 105F overnight or until crunchy.
This recipe is perfect for a 9-tray Excalibur dehydrator, although you will have to use every other tray, because the chips are quite tall. All prep work takes 10 minutes.
Enjoy your greens!
